2024 Filipino Cupid Review: How Easy Is It to Find a Filipina Date?
Who needs a little cherub with a bow and arrow when you have an app like Filipino Cupid? Marketed to those who want to date Filipinos, this app seems to be fairly popular in the US… Or so we think. So we decided to give it a shot and let you know everything worth knowing about this site. Here is our Filipino Cupid review.
Keep in mind that all our reviews are geared towards letting you know if an app or site will work in an average US city. Filipino Cupid, however, seems to have a bigger userbase in the Philippines than in the US. However, we did find a workaround for this to show you just how well it works in the US.
But first, let’s talk about our process:
After all, how many real-life women would you expect to spend their time sending messages to blank online dating accounts?
After this 24-hour period, I signed up for a paid account and filled out my profile with the same photos, bio and demographic information we use for every review we do. This allows us to make accurate comparisons between online dating websites.
I sent 50 messages to 50 women using some lines from our vault of tried-and-tested online dating openers, then made a note of how many women responded.
The final part of the test involved me continuing the conversation with the women who responded to my opener and trying to swap contact details with the intention of setting up a date.
The verdict of this Filipino Cupid review is mostly based on how responsive and willing to meet these women were. After all, we know this is what male online dating users care about the most.
Filipino Cupid Review: How Easy Is It to Meet Women Here?
Let’s make this clear. This website will only be useful if you’re hoping to meet women of Filipino descent. While there are a few women of different races who appear to have created profiles on FilipinoCupid.com, the majority of women were born in the Philippines.
We usually complete our online dating website tests in Columbus, Ohio – a mid-sized city in the United States.
However, on FilipinoCupid.com, there were only 27 women aged 18-40 who had created an account within 50 miles of Columbus (compared to thousands in Manila, Philippines).
To create a fair and useful test, we decided to run this experiment in Los Angeles, California; a large American city known for having a reasonably large Filipino population. Indeed, there were 333 accounts within 50 miles of Los Angeles, and around 50 who had been online in the previous week.
While this is nowhere near enough to ensure the abundance of options that a lot of guys are looking for on dating apps, it was enough for us to run a fair test.
Anyway, I have rated FilipinoCupid.com out of 10 for the most important aspects of online dating. These ratings have been compared to an all-time legendary dating app (eHarmony) and you can find them below.

As you can see, after putting FilipinoCupid.com through our intense testing, we rate it as a bang-average online dating website. Here are the highlights of my test you need to know about if you’re considering signing up with Filipino Cupid.
My blank profile was flooded with messages almost immediately
I left my profile blank for 24 hours just to test what would happen, yet it only took a few moments before I started receiving messages from accounts based in the Philippines.
These messages were very basic, so it’s certainly possible they were written by bots, but perhaps they could be written by women whose first language isn’t English. I gave it a pass.
Anyway, my account continued to be flooded with these messages from the Philippines and nearby countries throughout the experiment.
So I decided to send 10 messages to these accounts, just to get a hint of whether they were from real women or not and eight of them replied within a day.
I got a decent amount of messages when messaging Filipino women in the United States
At the time of the test, there were 333 female accounts aged 18-40 within 50 miles of Los Angeles. There were 50 accounts that had been active in the last week (it’s great that the website reveals this, by the way).
Considering these relatively low figures, I was surprised by how many responses I got after messaging 50 women. A total of eight women had responded to me after a week.
This isn’t an amazing response rate, but it’s not the worst either. In fact, it’s slightly below average.
I swapped contact details with some women, although it would be a bit of a trek to meet them
The Filipino Cupid search filter only allows you to search for women a minimum of 50 miles from a specific city. This is a flaw in my opinion, as I’m sure there are plenty of people who wouldn’t be willing to travel that far to meet someone.
So, while I did manage to swap contact details with three lovely ladies, the truth is: there would be no way I would have met them for a date, even in the fantasy land of this dating experiment. They all lived in a different Californian city several miles from Los Angeles.
The International Marriage Broker Regulation Act
Filipino Cupid participates in the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act (IMBRA). This means that before you message anyone, you have to fill out a questionnaire about your life history. It features questions about previous marriages, any children you have, or crimes you’ve committed. This is to ensure this information is provided before any users try to apply for a visa in their partner’s country.
Why eHarmony is a much better option
Filipino Cupid isn’t a bad website.
If you’re living in or visiting the Philippines, it might be quite effective. But if you’re from the US and you have no plans of going to the Philippines, you won’t have a lot of options. Even in Los Angeles, a city with a large Filipino population, there are only about 300 women you can meet. How many of them actively use Filipino Cupid? And how many of them will you be compatible with? The numbers aren’t on your side here.
So if you want to use a site that has plenty of users all over the US (we’re talking millions), eHarmony is a better option. Out of eHarmony’s huge userbase, a significant number of them are Filipino or of Filipino descent. You can even specify your preference for Filipina women in the signup questionnaire.
What’s more, eHarmony doesn’t just base your matches on how attracted you are to someone based on their profile photo. The site uses an advanced algorithm to match you up with women based on your personality, your preferences, and more. eHarmony is so good at this that 7 out of 10 users who use the site for a year end up meeting their future spouse!

Positives and Negatives of Filipino Cupid
Overall, we have kind of a mixed review for Filipino Cupid. Here’s a summary of what we liked and disliked about the site.
- There are plenty of beautiful women on Filipino Cupid, especially if you’re based in the Philippines.
- You can expect to have a lot of women message you first.
- You can expect a lot of responses to your messages if you message women based in the Philippines
- It’s easy to see when users were last online - and you can even filter your search to show the most recently active members.
- Filipino Cupid is completely pay-for-play. You can’t message anyone for free.
- There aren’t too many women to choose from based in the United States.
- The search filters only allow you to search within 50 miles of a city.
Profiles, Pictures, and Members
The female members on FilipinoCupid.com are almost entirely of Filipino descent. Most of them live in the Philippines. The website gives you the option to upload multiple photos and most members oblige. There are Filipino women of all ages and beauty standards on this website, though some seem to have very… interesting descriptions.
The profiles are also fairly detailed, with information on your education, preference for having kids, your religion, and so on. However, as detailed as the profiles can be, not all users choose to give answers.
Design
The site is well-designed and easy to navigate. Its main dashboard is packed with suitable profiles. You can use the basic search filter to change the search results on this page. There are other separate pages for an advanced search and your inbox.
Messaging and chatting
If you have a free account, you can only message women with premium accounts. However, there would appear to be barely any women with premium accounts on this website. There’s no easy way to find this in the search results either.
With a premium account, you can send unlimited messages to an unlimited number of women.
