“The city is pretty well known for having a brutal dating scene.” Allie Turner, a writer for the Vancouver Is Awesome blog, has a similarly negative view about the city’s dating culture. “Vancouver is frequently accused of being a cold, difficult city to make friends and from the looks of it, that reputation extends to romantic partners too,” she said. “According to local singles, red flags include ghosting, being flaky with plans, texting without ever going on a date, and being overall commitment-phobic.”
“In Edmonton, Toronto, Calgary there is a much higher chance that people will come out just to meet you for a coffee, just for the social aspect,” Lee added,
But, in our experience, this gives men who are social a leg-up against the competition. If you can go the right venues and flirt competently with women, they’ll often react well. Women are craving experiences like this in this part of the world.
Is there a hook-up culture in Vancouver?
