So, watch out for this behavior known as love-bombing. “These scams are hugely traumatizing for the victims as they truly believe they are involved in a romantic relationship,” says Richmond RCMP Cpl. Adriana O’Malley. “It shows just how far these fraudsters are willing to go to defraud people of their money.”
- Never give money to online strangers. It sounds like simple advice byt thousands of Americans grow to trust these scammers, then lend them money when asked for it. Needless to say, they never get it back. The most effective way to avoid this scam is to make a rule to not give money to people you don’t know from the internet in ANY circumstances.
