If you’re single and unaware of how dating apps work, you’ve probably been sleeping under a rock. “Dating apps have become increasingly popular in recent years, transforming the way people meet and interact with potential partners,” explains marketing expert Ryan Jiang. “These digital platforms, such as Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid, offer a convenient way to connect with others, promising the possibility of finding love or companionship at the swipe of a finger.”
But here’s a fact not everyone’s aware of; the modern internet dating landscape is like an Impressionist painting — it looks great from far away, but is a complete mess up close. Forbes data suggests there are around 2,500 dating apps available in the United States, yet only 53% of dating app users are at least ‘somewhat satisfied’ with their online dating experience, according to a Pew Research poll.
“[Users] can tell themselves that there are so many choices, that the people they meet may not be the most interesting and that they could find better,” says sociologist Jacques Marquet. “So, the search will never stop.”
“Today, if you own a smartphone, you’re carrying a 24/7 singles bar in your pocket,” dating writer Aziz Anzari said. “The world is available to us, but that might be the problem.”
Indeed, it seems like every week there’s a new website springing up, promising to deliver a horde of hot, single women desperate to meet you. If that seems too good to be true, that’s because it is. And with so many sites vying for your attention, it’s becoming harder and harder to tell the good from the bad. This is why we reviewed The Adult Hub.
The first thing I do when I review a website is to set up a completely blank profile. This is intentional — the idea is to see how many messages I get immediately upon account creation. These are nothing but spam and a good indicator that a site isn’t going to be worth my time.
After about a week or so, I’ll go back and fill out a profile, then test out the free version of the site for a couple of weeks. Once I’m finished, or if there isn’t much to do with a free account, I’ll set up a subscription so I can access the paid features.
The goal, of course, is to set up as many dates as I can. I’ll send 50 messages to 50 women from our vault of tried-and-tested openers. From there, I’ll message those who respond and try to get to know them, just like I would on my personal account. After that, I’ll take my experience and turn it into an informed recommendation — letting you know whether the site is worth signing up for or if it’s just another disappointment.
My verdict is based on how easy it is to make connections with great women on The Adult Hub, compared to other similar hook-up websites.
Let’s jump into the full review now:
The best place to start is with an overview of the site. I like to compare new websites to AFF (which has a great free trial), since it’s consistently the more reliable hookup website I’ve used.
Comparing a new site, like Adult Hub, to the best around makes it very easy to see what’s working out there and what’s a total waste of time.

With so many internet dating sites competing for attention, a lot of them have decided that the way to stand out is to target a specific niche. The Adult Hub’s niche is more niche interests and other forms of kink. The success of other BDSM dating websites proves that there are plenty of women out there looking for this.
In fact, 13% of women surveyed by Pew Research said that they use dating apps to seek casual sex. Meanwhile, 34% of Americans interviewed by YouGov admitted they’d be interested in some form of non-monogamy.
“Over the past decade or so, in no small part due to the sex positivity movement, it’s become way more common to be open about sex and sexuality,” says dating writer Paisley Gilmour. “Thankfully, tech and social media is right behind us, supporting us all the way.”
There’s still the option of signing up as a single guy looking for a vanilla relationship with a single woman, but if that’s what you’re really after, this is not your target audience.
After spending months trying it out we found this site to be pretty bad. We have to recommend that you look at other options first (especially AFF as you can tell from above) if you actually want to meet someone.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a good kink hookup site — well, this still isn’t your target audience, unfortunately.
Let’s start with the positives: If you’re looking for a website absolutely packed with extra features, this site may have something for you. In addition to the standard profile search and messaging options — some of which are only available to paid users — the site offers an article library, user-run blogs, forums, a live chat room, a shared calendar for public meetups and photo and video galleries.
Probably the best thing I can say about The Adult Hub is that a lot of these features are available to free users. After being locked out of even the most basic functionality by other sites until I coughed up a subscription fee, this was a welcome change. There are a handful of features that are still locked behind a paywall, which is to be expected, but I can say that I didn’t run out of things to do as a free user.
Pew Research found that only a third of dating app users have paid for premium features, so this gives the app a chance at building a decent user base.
The downside to this is, of course, that if you’re looking for a straightforward dating site, The Adult Hub doesn’t make things easy. I’m an experienced dating site user and even I was overwhelmed at first. What’s the difference between adding someone as a friend and adding them as a favorite? Should I add an event to the calendar as a party or a meetup? Do I message another user directly, write on their wall, comment on their blog post or hit them up in chat?
After spending a month on the site, I’m still not sure of the answers to those questions. Having a ton of features is one thing, but the extra features are far from user-friendly, which just ends up muddling the experience. A well-known Google study found that simple websites attract more engagement and more customers, so The Adult Hub has really dropped the ball here.
With The Adult Hub trying to be so many different things at once, it’s no wonder that it’s hard to find other users who are there for the same reasons as you. The search function doesn’t really help with this — the advanced search allows you to filter standard fields like age and location as well as things like build, ethnicity and breast size, but there’s no filter for specific kinks, which seems bizarre given the site’s focus.
Data from Badoo suggests that the average man spends 79 minutes per day perusing dating apps, but I’d rather not spend all day sifting through married couples looking for very niche things when I’m looking for a single woman for some light spanking. The Adult Hub forces me to do just that.
The Adult Hub isn’t a bad website — it’s just a bad dating website. If you’re looking for a kink-focused social media site where you can look at photos and interact online with similarly-minded people, it’s probably even worth signing up for a free account.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking to actually meet some real people, I’d give this one a wide berth. Their best features, like live chat rooms, videos and the all-important ability to send and receive messages from other users, are all restricted to those with a paid subscription. The problem is, none of those features are likely to lead to getting actual dates and the paid version just isn’t worth it.
With so many features available, there might be some creative workarounds possible if you’re sufficiently motivated. You could create an event or look out for meetups in your area or try to connect with people via the forums, guestbooks or comments on blog posts.
If cost was the only prohibiting factor, I might recommend giving it a try, but I can’t really say I saw enough genuine signs of life on The Adult Hub during this review to bother sinking that much time into it. Instead, I’d recommend sticking with the tried and true AFF, which has a whole lot more genuine activity and a whole lot less fuss.
In my experience, AFF one of the best sites for finding hookups. It doesn’t limit you to just hookups involving kinks. Instead, you can find a range of people from those who want the most vanilla sex to those who want the whole shebang. Plus, there are millions of people on AFF, so no matter what city you’re in, you’re bound to find someone.

While The Adult Hub wasn’t great, it did have a few things going for it.
There are some obviously real users here — and some obviously fake. My top result in searches — no matter what parameters I set — was an account selling feet pics. This was the start of a fairly common pattern of users asking for money by various means. Some were upfront about it, advertising themselves as escort services, while others were a bit more clever. (If I didn’t know what a “pay pig” was before signing up for The Adult Hub, I do now.)
If you can avoid the scams on TheAdultHub, you’re still left with the daunting prospect of finding women who a) are real and b) might be willing to meet up.
Unfortunately, I had very little luck when it came to a) and absolutely none when it came to b). At least the fake profiles have the decency to be obvious — look out for things like an obvious mismatch between user profiles and the information in their biographies or ridiculous details like women who claim to be 7 feet tall.
There are more subtle signs, too, like spotting several bios with the exact same copy and paste details. And I wasn’t alone in noticing these — the forums had several posts all wondering if there were “any real people” on the site or if TheAdultHub was a scam. Never a good sign!

The design of the site wasn’t great. To start with, it looks dated — not at all like some of the sleeker, more modern websites I’ve used. The user interface is cluttered, which made it even harder to navigate between all the different features. It was also a bit clunky — I had difficulty uploading any photos, even in a supported format, until I saved them with a different extension and the constant popup notifications any time another user uploaded a photo to the gallery got old very fast.
The rest of the site was pretty standard — a few different search functions, though not as many as I would have liked, as well as a nice option to browse profiles by users currently online. Overall, a little awkward, but useable.
Immediately after creating my account, I got about a dozen messages. Not a good thing! What real person sends a message to someone without a photo, bio or any information whatsoever in their profile? Literally nobody. The aim is almost always to get you to sign up for a paid account, since free users can’t view or send messages and so have no way of knowing if they’re legit.
The messaging system was simple but annoying. There was no easy way to track who I had messaged from my inbox and no way to preview the contents of a message without clicking on it. If I wanted to message more than one woman in a single session, I had to click on the message, type and send a reply, then navigate back to my inbox and repeat. That’s a whole lot of clicking, especially when I lost track of who I had or hadn’t replied to.
The worst part is, all that effort just wasn’t worth it. I didn’t have a single decent conversation with another user in the whole month I spent on The Adult Hub. A lot of the women I messaged just didn’t respond and almost all of the ones that did, replied with messages trying to continue the “conversation” on other sites, where I’d no doubt have to pay even more. I received the exact same message several times from different users, as well as a fair number of nonsensical replies to questions.
There’s a lot you can do with a free membership, which is this site’s saving grace. Users can maintain their own blogs, comment on others’ posts, view some images in the photo gallery, read and post on the forums, friend and favorite other users, create events in the shared calendar, and comment on guestbook walls. A free membership even allows you to access the chat rooms after a week.
What can’t you do? Well, messaging is a big one. Free users can’t read any of the messages they’re sent and are capped on how many messages they can receive each day. You also can’t view the video gallery or any explicit images in the photo gallery.
I don’t like to see ads on dating websites, especially when I’m paying for a subscription. They’re usually a bad sign and the more legit websites won’t have them. The Adult Hub does, mostly for dodgy sites like Trio Encounters.
A lot of sites will offer a short-term trial subscription to let you try out the paid features for a couple of days before fully committing, but not here. The shortest subscription period offered by The Adult Hub is one month, with a steep discount if you subscribe for six months upfront. All subscription packages are automatically renewing.

TheAdultHub.com itself doesn’t seem like a scam, but there are certainly a lot of scam users on the website. If you choose to sign up, be aware that you’ll have to scroll past a lot of accounts selling various services rather than belonging to real users.
The Adult Hub itself is a safe site, in our opinion. However, looking at the many sketchy profiles on the site, we can’t say that the users are all safe to talk to.

TheAdultHub.com is like a social media site where you can browse through members and see what they’re up to. Most of them are looking for something specific, though, so it’s not really ideal for a single man looking for single women. If you do find someone you like on the site, however, you need to pay for a membership to send them messages.
No, The Adult Hub doesn’t have an app.
The Adult Hub offers one, three and six-month membership options. There are no trial membership offers available, so if you want to try out the paid features, you’ll have to hand over at least a month’s subscription.
