In our WildMeets review, you’ll see if we stumbled on a lesser-known yet worthwhile site or if we found yet another dud in the dating site world.
Online dating can show us the best and the worst in people. It can be your ticket to a hot one-night fling, a new relationship … or a whole lot of trouble. And that’s only if you can get past all the fakes and find a website that’s actually worth your time.
Finding a dating site that works for you is so crucial right now. A lot of people are only looking online because of all the social distancing and that makes relying on meeting people in public to be a frustrating proposition, especially for guys.
The problem is, even doing that much nowadays is a full-time job in itself. For every legit hookup site out there, there are a dozen more filled with bots and scams that will happily take your money and give you nothing in return. And on the surface, they all look more or less the same.
That’s why we love getting underneath the surface to find out if a website really does everything it promises to. We sort the good from the bad — and let you know whenever we’ve found a diamond in the rough or a scam to stay away from at all costs.
After that initial test is done, I’ll go back in and fill out my profile information properly, including adding a few photos. Then, I’ll spend a month or so using the site as if it were my own personal dating profile. I’ll try out the features of the site, message women and try to set up as many dates as possible. This includes setting up a paid membership since, on most sites, there isn’t a lot you can do without one.
By the time I’m finished, I usually have a pretty good idea of the website — whether it’s legit or a scam, whether it’s possible to meet some real women there and whether it’s worth recommending. For better or worse, I take those experiences and turn them into a comprehensive review, letting you know which sites are worth your time and money and which ones you should stay far away from.
The best place to start is with an overview of the site. I like to compare new websites to AFF (which you can try for free yourself) because it’s consistently the most reliable hookup website I’ve used (and seems to be for most guys).
You can see a quick side-by-side below to get a good idea of what we’re dealing with here.

I’ve reviewed a lot of websites — some good, a lot more bad. I try not to form an opinion based on first impressions alone, which can sometimes be misleading. But I still have a pretty good sense of when a site isn’t going to turn out to be worth my time.
Sometimes it’s a feature or payment model that sends up red flags, sometimes it’s obviously fake members. And sometimes, it’s the fact that a website is literally identical to one I’ve already used.
That’s exactly what happened here. The minute I loaded up the WildMeets homepage, I was struck with a sense of deja vu. Sure, the color scheme and background image were different, but everything else about the WildMeets website was identical to so many other sites we’ve reviewed before. Not just the signup form — the landing page, search function, messaging system and terms and conditions of WildMeets were all the same. And, sadly, it didn’t stop there.
When we reviewed HelloHotties, we mentioned its references to “group companies” throughout its terms and conditions. Specifically, the fact that the company reuses profiles and members across its network, which is exactly what we found here. It quickly turned out that the similarities between HelloHotties and WildMeets didn’t end at the site design — even the members were the same.
If you combine that with the high volume of fake and spam messages, the overwhelming number of low quality or bare profiles, and blatant scare tactics like time-limited access to messages, it all adds up to a site I wouldn’t feel comfortable spending money on.
One of the most amusing things to me about reviewing WildMeets was the difference between the exterior of the website and the reality of the member experience. An extensive, if generic, rundown of the site on the homepage makes a lot of big claims about online dating in general and WildMeets in particular.
But the funniest had to be its core infographic, in black and white, promising an “extensive user base,” “real people,” and “detailed profiles,” when the lack of all of those things were some of my biggest complaints.
An extensive user base? I suppose, if you’re willing to factor in the profiles imported from other websites. Real people? Maybe one person I found on WildMeets seemed real and it had some of the most obviously fake messages I’ve received in my time using hookup sites. And detailed profiles? Well, that one’s just laughable.
What is there to say about WildMeets I haven’t already said about HelloHotties? I found no real women, had no real conversations and walked away from my experience with no expectation whatsoever that using the site could ever lead to a genuine hookup. Suffice it to say, this isn’t one we’re recommending.
Now contrast this with AFF, a site we’ve used for years and never get tired of. It’s been around for over a decade and it remains one of the best sites out there for finding hookups. It’s full of real human beings, not just bots posing as hot women. And the best part? You’re extremely likely to get replies from people on the site even if you’re new to hookup sites.

I have to be honest, it was hard to find things to like about WildMeets.
As I found on HelloHotties, user profiles on Wild Meets leave very little room for personal information. You can view users’ photos and some basic information — if you’re a paid member and if they’ve bothered to fill it out, which most women hadn’t.
Of all the profiles I browsed on Wild Meets — and it was a lot — I found a single woman who had anything personal to say about herself. I’m not going to come right out and say the rest were fakes created by Wild Meets to lure in paying members because that’s a hard thing to prove. But the empty profiles, identical statements and dozens of robotic messages I received sure made it easy for me to walk away with that impression.

The design of WildMeets was okay. It was exactly the same as its sister sites with a slightly different color scheme, so the good and bad of those sites still apply here. The design was more attractive than a lot of similar sites, but ruined by constant pop-ups and way too many ads.
Not surprisingly, my inbox on WildMeets was flooded with spam messages in the first few days after account creation. I ended up with a few dozen messages before I’d added anything to my profile about who I was, what I looked like or what kind of woman I was looking for.
Bizarrely, I got a lot of initial messages but not a single response to any of mine, even if I was replying to someone who’d messaged me first. Not that I’m owed a reply, obviously, but I’ve found that when this kind of behavior happens on a large scale across the whole site, it’s often likely a result of site-automated messages being sent out.
At best, I received a lot of messages written in slightly dodgy English. At worst, I received identical, obvious copy-and-paste messages from multiple “women.” There are a lot of websites out there that use automatically generated messages to keep members interested, but most of them try a lot harder than this.
You can do very little with a free membership, which is unfortunate but not surprising. You can create a profile and view the search page, but you can’t see member profiles beyond a thumbnail of information. You can receive but not send messages, which is pretty standard. Not so standard is the scare feature WildMeets shares with sister site HelloHotties, which puts a timer on all messages and claims to delete them if you don’t respond in an hour.
Needless to say, these cheap scare tactics are not standard on any reputable dating site and it says a lot about how hard WildMeets is trying to force members into a paid subscription.
I hate seeing advertisements on dating sites. Not just because they’re intrusive — which the ones on Wild Meets are — but because the more legit sites don’t need them, so they’re always a bit of a red flag. Wild Meets has ads on every page, from banner ads to pop-ups to what look like internal text links that will actually take you to an affiliate site. Wild Meets probably has more ads than I’ve ever seen on a hookup site and that’s saying something.
WildMeets recurring memberships are available on a one-month or three-month basis. WildMeets also offers paid trial membership that will automatically convert to monthly memberships at the end of the trial period, so be wary if you choose this option.
One day $0.99
One week $9.99
One month $38.59/month
Three months $21.64/month ($64.92)
